The Care for Children one day course is aimed at new & expectant parents, grandparents, families & those who interact socially (not professionally) with groups of children, to learn first aid for infants & children.
Course price & booking
The standard First Aid at Work course costs £70. However, we may offer a BULK BOOKING DISCOUNT. You can get additional discount for booking any course at your own location (a minimum of 4 attendees is required). Discounts do depend on your exact location. Please enquire for details.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion, showing compliance & understanding of the latest first aid protocols & practices.
The subjects covered on the course, to help infants & children are as as follows:
Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, & give first aid in an appropriate & responsible manner;
Understanding the importance of S.A.R.A.H. legislation ;
Actions when a casualty does not want help;
The importance & ways to prevent cross infection;
Administer first aid to a casualty who is;
Unconscious & breathing;
Understanding fainting;
Give appropriate & effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation for infants & children;
Automatic External Defibrillation training;
Give first aid to a casualty who is badly bleeding;
Give first aid to a casualty who has a spine or neck injury;
Assist a child who is suffering a seizure;
Give first aid to a casualty who is choking;
Give first aid to a casualty who has a head injury;
Give first aid to a casualty who has an object in their ear or nose;
Give first aid for minor injuries (cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds), use appropriate bandaging techniques;
Make an illness assessment of a child;
Aiding a casualty who has swallowed a poison;
Aiding a casualty who has a bite or sting reaction;
Understanding the symptoms & aiding a person with Meningitis.
